Sarıqaya Qaçqın şəhərciyi - Sumqayıt Sarigaya Refugee Camp in Sumgayit north of Baku, Azerbaijan The camp is located about an hour north of the Azerbaijani capital Baku. It hosts refugees fled from two conflicts - one within AZ, and one in Chechnya. One in 8 people in AZ is a refugee or "internally displaced person" due to the war with Armenia over the disputed Azeri region Nagorny (mountainous) Karabakh (black vineyard). Refugee families have been expelled by the Armenian invaders from the Azeri cities of Nagorny Karabakh such as Lachin and Fizuli. However, their children are born in Sumgayit - a deserted place north of Baku extremely polluted with industrial wastes. A place on Earth you would definitely not want to live.
